I hate it when PUV drivers feel like they’re the kings of the road. Especially when they’re carrying some badge that makes them feel invulnerable.
Just this morning, on my way to work, some FX taxi cut our jeepney. We were on the right lane, the FX was in the middle of the road, when suddenly he swerves to our lane so his passenger can get down. It would have been fine if he turned his signal lights on, but he didn’t. He just maneuvered his steering wheel without looking if there were any incoming vehicles. We almost got into an accident, man.
What’s worse is that the FX driver had the galls to be angry at the jeepney driver. He shows his police badge (I didn’t get to see his name) and screams at the driver. Buti na lang kalmado siya. That FX driver bastard even slapped the jeepney driver when the latter was reasoning with the FX driver. Duh!
Bobo talaga yang FX driver na yan. First of all, if he was a sane driver, he should know the rules when on the road. Second, he shouldn’t pull ranks. So what if you’re a retired policeman? It doesn’t give you the right to act like you own every road and highway in the country. And third, if you weren’t guilty of committing a mistake, you wouldn’t have the need to raise your voice. Either inunahan mo yung jeepney driver or you were trying to scare him by being the first one to scream his lungs out.
But guess what, the jeepney driver didn’t get scared. He even got your plate number. And pity you, Mr. FX driver, you had the balls of posting the "How’s My Driving" sign at the back of your vehicle when you yourself do not follow courtesy on the road. If I got the number I’d probably call that number to tell them you are a reckless driver and that your license should be revoked.
