A day in the life…

The Bastard Moonchild’s demented thoughts and mundane stories

Causing a commotion?

Filed under: Uncategorized — kablagblog at 6:34 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2007

No, this is not that Madonna song. Of course I want to sing it right now…

Maybe later.

Moving on…

I find it interesting and sickly funny that there are people who seem to be born in the mold of Eris. In other words, they are put in this world to create enmity.

Unfortunately for [you], in my how many years of existence, I’ve grown to know how [you] do it. And, somehow, why [you] do it. And unfortunately for [you], again, I’ve learned how to keep it cool.

So if [you] think I’m bothered by it, well, it’s time [you] think of another strategy.

I’ve got the moves, baby. You got the motion. If we got together we’d be causing a commotion…

If my life were a movie…

… it’d probably be entitled Burnout Revenge.

Not because my life is like a game, or more specifically that PS2 game which teaches drivers the art of takedown and road rage…

Come to think of it, pwede.

But no. Why the title? Because these two words sum up what I’m currently feeling right now.

Burnout. Parang kanta ng Sugarfree. But in my case, it isn’t about my romantic relationship. Bakit naman, e matagal na nga kaming ‘di nagkikita e. ‘Di applicable sa amin yun.

So it must be something else, you might think. And you’re probably thinking it right. Lest the person/s concerned read this entry, I won’t elaborate. I’ll let your mind tickle itself.

Revenge. As a true-blue Scorpio, this is a trait I cannot live without. Hmm, masyado lang yata akong asar sa mundo ngayon. But being born in the year of the Sheep, kaya ko pa magtimpi. Malapit na nga lang akong bumigay.

Again, for the reasons stated above, I can’t really elaborate.

So what the heck is this entry for?

Maybe it’s my way of saying to myself that sometime soon, I wish to sing to the tune of Clarity.

And when that time comes, I’ll have a different title for my life movie.

Probably… There She Goes?

Musings

A trip down memory lane has brought me mixed emotions.

Nostalgia has its way of keeping you giddy with delight, yet it wrenches your heart as it makes you realize that memories are simply that. Memories.

Buildings, clippings, staff boxes, a locked room, a new territory. Old faces to see and new names to remember.

It’s the same, but it will never be the same.

Funny isn’t it, that I can say a part of my past is safe, locked in a room full of a decade’s worth of memories. Yet who knows how long it will stay that way, how long until the passing days create clouds and blur them all until it reaches zero visibility.

Oh well. At least we have each other.

Araw ng mga promotor

Dsci0029Yep, it’s been four years since that day, er, night, er, midnight — whatever — in Sibil, where we saw women with thongs in (to quote a komikero who was with us then) "black, white and skin tone," and that almost disastrous early morning in Shell Libis, (no) thanks to Oji and his smokes.

That was the time my SO and I started the trend of office romance. To quote my boss,  "ang promotor." Hehe, come to think of it, he’s right. If it weren’t for us, the next two couples won’t follow suit. Haha!

(Oo nga pala, meron din palang muntikan na, pero ‘ika nga ng Parokya ni Edgar, walang nangyari.)

Anyway, it was a good thing we got a few hours to spend together (my SO had to get back to work). It was a simple celebration. We meet at Glorietta, I give him the gift, he buys me a gift, we eat, we go home. Actually, we almost ate at Jollibee ‘coz I wanted the Megatron Kiddie Meal. But who would think of eating at a fastfood restaurant on the day of their anniversary? Besides, we wanted something special so we ate at a restaurant we don’t usually go to. We ended up at Oliver’s, one of the few restos that were still open at 9PM. Wow, never thought that it was going to be an expensive meal, but hey, it’s a special day. Minsan lang ‘to.

Four years of kakornihan. It’s all good. I love it.

Just thinking

Thought for the day #1:

Seen in a newspaper: a photo of local government officials of a certain province burning marijuana plants.

Don’t they get high when they do that?

Wow, repapips…

Thought for the day #2:

While browsing through BPI’ Rewards list.

What the heck’s a hand blender?

I’m getting a freaky mental image.

That freakin’ Mall of Asia is definitely huge! It was a tiring walk from the giant globe to the Esplanade. And I haven’t even gone inside the mall proper.

And part of the Esplanade kinda stinks, too.

Kung di lang dahil sa
Pyro Olympics…

Geez, I’m bored.

Or maybe I’m jaded.

Or maybe it’s just the effect of Figaro’s Cafe Americano.

Me and my “broken tummy”

Weh. Sana tinagalog ko na lang.

O diba, sarili ko binabastardo ko. Astig.

Realization number anek: Christian Bautista’s Everything You Do is a remake of a Marc Anthony original, first released in 2002.

I have no idea why I’m writing this down. I guess I’ve just had too much Lite Rock in my system.

I hate it when PUV drivers feel like they’re the kings of the road. Especially when they’re carrying some badge that makes them feel invulnerable.

Just this morning, on my way to work, some FX taxi cut our jeepney. We were on the right lane, the FX was in the middle of the road, when suddenly he swerves to our lane so his passenger can get down. It would have been fine if he turned his signal lights on, but he didn’t. He just maneuvered his steering wheel without looking if there were any incoming vehicles. We almost got into an accident, man.

What’s worse is that the FX driver had the galls to be angry at the jeepney driver. He shows his police badge (I didn’t get to see his name) and screams at the driver. Buti na lang kalmado siya. That FX driver bastard even slapped the jeepney driver when the latter was reasoning with the FX driver. Duh!

Bobo talaga yang FX driver na yan. First of all, if he was a sane driver, he should know the rules when on the road. Second, he shouldn’t pull ranks. So what if you’re a retired policeman? It doesn’t give you the right to act like you own every road and highway in the country. And third, if you weren’t guilty of committing a mistake, you wouldn’t have the need to raise your voice. Either inunahan mo yung jeepney driver or you were trying to scare him by being the first one to scream his lungs out.

But guess what, the jeepney driver didn’t get scared. He even got your plate number. And pity you, Mr. FX driver, you had the balls of posting the "How’s My Driving" sign at the back of your vehicle when you yourself do not follow courtesy on the road. If I got the number I’d probably call that number to tell them you are a reckless driver and that your license should be revoked.

See what you did to the girl with the broken tummy? You made her angry.

Walang gana, lagi na lang walang gana

And I ain’t talking about my appetite.

My system is at the point where it’s rejecting it.

My waking hours are filled with dread of getting up and getting ready.

So this is what they call breaking point, huh.

Come to think of it, I never thought of lasting this long here.

Now all I have to do is make a move.

Into the filmfest

Filed under: Uncategorized — kablagblog at 6:37 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2007

Christmas time is automatically the Metro Manila Film Festival time.

So my SO and I grabbed this chance to watch a few films we deemed worth catching.

First up was Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah. The real reason we watched this film was because we were supporting an animator who worked on some of its visual effects. Anyway, I haven’t really read the comic nor have I watched the musical, so I can’t really compare. But judging from its opening, the script was based on the musical. Think Sound of Music with a lot of drag. And speaking of drag, it was kinda funny for me because it’s like the women act a lot more like a gay than the real gays of the story.

Plus I vividly recall covering my SO’s eyes with my hands during the last part of the movie. Well, he was actually closing his eyes for fear of seeing Ada and Dodong kiss each other. Not that he has anything against gays; it’s just that there are things some people don’t need to see to understand. Good thing it was only a smack on the forehead.

Next up was the SRO Enteng Kabisote 3. Same action-fantasy-comedy genre without the Bollywood effect (read: sing and dance). Though half of the movie was devoted to product placement (try to count all the brands that were seen or mentioned), this movie had more fun moments and funnier lines. Problem is, the build-up took much of the time that there were scenes that one could consider as trash. Remove all the unnecessary shots and the movie would last for about an hour.

But what Enteng Kabisote has that Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah lacks is the chemistry between the actors that makes the jokes and punchlines more effective. Or maybe it’s because most of the cast in the former were Vic Sotto’s relatives and co-workers at the noon-time show.

My SO and I observed some hits and misses in the 3D animation, which now makes me a lot more tempted to watch Tatlong Baraha just to see why it won the Best Visual Effects.

Maybe Lito Lapid’s signature move "bullet-sliced-by-a-knife-killing-two-opponents" in slow-mo did the trick.
