The Bastard Moonchild’s demented thoughts and mundane stories

Pics at Friendster blogs… just a bit of a rant

I checked out a friend’s photo album here at Friendster blogs. I just don’t know if it’s the connection or all the pictures are in hi-res, but downloading time is so slow. Plus thumbnails are too small. Literally thumbnail-size, huh?

I dunno, in my opinion posting pictures at Multiply is better. They have bigger thumbnails (bigger than 1"x1", I assure you), you can even put a description even if your just viewing thumbnails, and downloading time, even if you’re looking at hi-res pics, are faster.

Or maybe I’m just too biased.

favorite song for the meantime…
——–

Labis na naiinip
Nababagot sa bawat saglit
Kapag naaalala ka
Wala naman akong magawa

Umuwi ka na baby
Di na ako sanay ng wala ka
Mahirap ang mag-isa
At sa gabi’y hinahanap hanap kita

Hanggang kailan ako maghihintay
Na makasama kang muli
Sa buhay kong puno ng
Paghihirap
At tanging ikaw lang ang
Pumapawi sa mga luha
Naglalagay ng ngiti sa mga labi

Di mapigilang mag-isip
O baka sa tagal
Mahulog ang loob mo sa iba
Nakaka balisa
Knock on wood wag naman sana

Umuwi ka na baby
Di na ako sanay ng wala ka
Mahirap ang mag-isa
At sa gabi’y hinahanap hanap kita

Hanggang kailan ako maghihintay
Na makasama kang muli
Sa buhay kong puno ng
Paghihirap
At tanging ikaw lang ang
Pumapawi sa mga luha
Naglalagay ng ngiti sa mga labi

Umuwi ka na baby

Superbook

Wow, I didn’t think they’d come up with these.

A week or two ago, Gio and I went to Astrovision Galleria to look for a replacement for his earphones. And then, what a surprise! As we entered the door, the first thing that welcomed us were the Superbook CDs 1-5! My childhood came flooding back.

Flying House was on the shelf beside it. CDs 1-5 also. So just imagine how ecstatic we were.

Yesterday, we were at Powerbooks Megamall, Fluxx, Gio and I found Superbook and Flying House at the Tower Records side. Fluxx had this idea that we split the bill and pay P50 each (one CD costs P150, so buying all of them would cost us P1500) and buy Superbook CD 1. And so we did.

We’re going to watch it later during lunch. Or when Fluxx gets his laptop back.

Weekend gimmicks

Last Friday, Gio and I watched "Whose Wife Is It Anyway?" at Onstage, Greenbelt. Tickets were free, thanks to Fluxx’s Ate Rissa. Had a hilarious time. Plus nudity! No frontal, though. Just the butts. Interesting story, too. It’s not just about the infidel Congressman and the "dead" body found by his hotel window. It struck me more as a story of marital tribulations, the rediscovery of marital bliss and the truth amid the crazy situation and the white lies. Cool play. I recommend it.

Saturday, I woke up early and went to the gym. Naks! Nagpapaganda ng katawan ang lola mo! Anyway, met Noddy there (he was up early), began around 7:45AM and went home 9:30AM. took a break, took a shower, then went with my sister to Divisoria to buy tela for their uniform. As we were going to Cluster Mall, someone yelled out to me, "Jessie!" Yeah, right. Just because I got small eyes…

Anyway, at Cluster Mall, we bought yards of cloth and some buttons, roamed around some more, bought two shirts for P150, then rode the LRT2 (nice, really big!) to Cubao where we bought Go Nuts Donuts. Yum!

Come Sunday, I’m up and about again. After coming home from church, I managed our sari-sari store until Gio came to fetch me (here boy! arf!). Went to the Transport Show in Megamall where we took some pictures (miss, can I take a picture of you?… with the car. yeah! you and the car! no, just you, really), then ate at Ice Monster before proceeding to the Podium for Gio’s barkada’s photoshoot at Picture Company. Minus Fluxx, Benjie, Sonny and Gary, though. Had couple shots, then group shots. Can’t wait to see the pix. Began at 5PM, ended at 8:30PM. Wow.

Then we had dinner at C2 at Shangri-La where Roschi works as a chef. Great food, nice price. Not too pricey. One order is good for two people with ordinary appetites. Yum, too!

All in all, it was an exhausting, expensive and enjoyable weekend. Now back to work.

New style

Nothing. I just changed my blog’s design ‘coz it seemed like everyone wanted to have that red-and-black template. I like this one. With a kinda warm feel to it. :P

It’s a thing

It is 9:42 AM by my watch.

A few minutes ago I checked my email and saw that eight or nine of my friends got blogs from Friendster. Hwow! I mean, it’s just like a cold… everyone’s catching it!

So my first reason holds true for almost everybody I guess. Free is good. Free is great. Free is worth taking. I think that should be my mantra from now on.

What really ticks me off, though, is when I get to check what’s on their blog, I see their picture and… nothing else. Out of the eight or nine people, only three or four (i keep on saying estimates, what’s wrong with me?) have managed to put something on their blogs! So like, what’s this? The "I’m gonna get a blog ‘coz it makes me cool" syndrome?

Well, maybe at the back of my mind, I got a blog ‘coz I want to be like others, too. Plus, I can’t post comments or view their photo albums if I don’t get one. But the thing is, this Friendster blog is already free! What’s holding you back to post your thoughts, raves and  rants in your own blog? C’mon guys, take advantage of these things (see mantra above). If you won’t use it, well, what’s it for?

Ah well, just something in my mind today. Sue me.

Testing, testing…

Okay, so I’m trying out this blog thingy on Friendster. I’ve tried Blogger, and I lost interest. I tried Multiply, and I’m satisfied so far.

So why try the Friendster blog?

First of all, this thing is for free. Consumer mentality. Free is good. Free is great. Free is worth taking. Get it?

Second, I wanna feel how it is to have a "Dear Diary" all over again. Just like the one when I was in Grade 3. Although this one is more hi-tech.

Third, well, it doesn’t hurt to try. Doesn’t hurt to be "in" too, I guess. Though some people may diss me for that last reason.

Besides, I’m bored. I mean, not that bored. I just want to relax my head.

So there. Maybe I’ll put one of those bastard experiences here, or some corny stuff, whatever.

Cool, my officemate Pol just shown a Viagra ad. Cool…

By the way, check out my Multiply account if you need to see some fun stuff. Well, some aren’t really. The pictures are, though. http://moonchild117.multiply.com

And another thing, I want to thank my officemate Fluxx for the inspiration for the Friendster blog URL. Sorry, you didn’t use it, I might as well modify it. Ain’t gonna be cool if someone else uses it.
