A day in the life…

The Bastard Moonchild’s demented thoughts and mundane stories

Bye-bye

Filed under: Uncategorized — kablagblog at 8:27 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2009

Well, at least to this blog. Since I don’t get to update this often because of the firewall in the office, and because my other blog has achieved a PR1 status (as if that matters in SEO, eh?), I’m no longer using my Friendster blog. This doesn’t necessarily mean I’m closing my Friendster account. I’ll probably be posting stuff like photos and leave comments or whatever. But this blog is closed.

So if you’re still interested to know what the heck is going on with my life, you can take a peek at my WordPress blog, HitsandMrs. Obviously, this will be the saner one, as I have decided that it would have a certain theme. I also allow link exchanges there, so just drop me a note if you want to link up. Hay, SEO, you did have an impact on me…

But of course, my Bastard self is never in hibernation, so for the more mundane entries, my Multiply account will give you a dose of that kind of kawalanghiyaan.

Despite these recent developments, I won’t be totally putting this down, as I have many wonderful memories written here. But there’s always a time where we have to move on… to another blog host.

Well, that does it then. See you when I see you.

It’s been a while (again)

… since I last wrote here. Haay, it really sucks not to have complete Internet access at work.

But anyways…

First up, thanks to everyone who greeted me on my birthday. I love it that I’ve got a lot of thoughtful friends.

And to Shai, pwede pa rin akong mag-take ng order… provided Fluxx gives me the updated price list of the pastries. All I have is the prices for the fruitcake. I’ll take the orders, Fluxx will do the delivery. Sa Makati nga lang kayo magbabayad. LOL!

Can’t Fluxx do the order-taking?

Anyways, I’m in a hurry… but just to let you know, I won’t be updating my Friendster blog for a long time… so just visit my Multiply for more Bastard stuff.

I’ll let you guys know when the other blog is open for public viewing.

Mea Culpa

Surprise! It’s been months since my last entry. I just realized how similar Friendster’s blog thing look like that of Wordpress.

Anyways, so what am I sorry for?

First, for not having to update my Friendster blog like I used to. Got busy, moved out of the house, moved to another workplace where all social sites are blocked. I’m with new BFF Netopia right now…

Second, the reason I was busy: prepared to tie the knot and got hitched. You read that right. Apologies for not spreading the info. We decided for something intimate (not to mention “due to budget constraints”). So there. If I had moolah, I’d probably give out a big bash next month. And no, I am not pregnant. Yet.

I’m still thinking if there’s a third, but I might use up my Netopia credits…

Anyways, will be cutting this one short. Next time…

3-Year Old Boy Missing - Spreading the word

Filed under: Uncategorized — kablagblog at 12:29 am on Thursday, July 24, 2008

UPDATE: Last week, the boy who was kidnapped at Festival Mall Alabang has been found. He was seen walking around the streets of Sta. Rosa, Laguna begging for alms. Thanks to the internet and civilian vigilance, the boy has been returned to his parents. Let this story be a lesson to all: first, to take care of our kids; second, that a little "distrust" can somehow save your and your loved ones’ lives; and third, to never underestimate the power of the internet.

Below is the original post made on July 24, two days after the boy went missing:

A friend of mine posted this announcement on her Multiply blog about a boy who went missing (kidnapped?) in a mall down south of Metro Manila, and felt I also need to spread the word.

Some details from the boy’s aunt’s blog:

The missing kid is Matthew David Samudio, 3 years old, from Muntinlupa. He was last seen on July 22 at Tom’s World Arcade inside Festival Mall Alabang wearing green checkered polo, maong pants and green Mr. Bean Slippers.

The theory of him being kidnapped cropped up when, upon reviewing the mall’s surveillance camera, they saw a tween girl calling his attention and leading him somewhere, away from his companions.

If anyone has any information, please call the local police or the parents of the boy. Spread the word, too.

And to my friends who have kids of their own, take caution as well.

Let’s see if the prediction is true…

I bet some of you have received that email. Some got scared, some dismissed it as a hoax. My grandma had to call my mom to tell me not to go to work on the 18th.

Will it happen? Is it just a joke? Should we believe it or shrug it off?

Well, nothing’s wrong with not being prepared. And as one commented on another blog, what’s one day out of work?

The electric flyswat shaped like a tennis racket is also sold in the UK…

Forgive me for not posting for so long. Been pretty busy.

But this discovery merits this blog entry.

See, while going through my emails, I encountered this newsletter about great finds over the net. And guess what, this Bug Zapper was featured.

Online, it’s sold at a price of 9.99 pounds (where the heck is the shortcut for that) or about US$19.92.

Convert to peso, which would be multiplied by Php44…

Whoa.

I can get that at a price 75% cheaper in Divisoria.

Of old letters, clues and scattered poo’s

Filed under: Uncategorized — kablagblog at 4:07 am on Wednesday, May 7, 2008

I found an old letter today. Funny how I had the urge to read it again when I’ve put the words there behind me.

Reading it didn’t cause old memories to stir inside my head — rather a realization that there is something wrong with the picture painted by hands that weren’t mine.

I found a clue, I just don’t know whether I hold it true.

Either it’s a hoax or the pigeons have indeed scattered their poo on the image.

I have my truth, they have their claims. Time will tell who will be the first to give in.

I have my patience. I can wait.

A funny thing happened on the way home this early morning.

Around 2AM, SO and I got on the jeep en route to home. At the corner of Meralco and Ortigas Ave., 4 foreigners — one guy and 3 girls — got on the jeep. Pretty noisy bunch, guess it was their first time to ride a jeep. They even took pictures of themselves inside the jeep.

We were already cruising past Medical City when the girl beside me instigated a sort-of conversation:

She: Do you speak English?

Me: Yes.

She: Where are we going?

Me: Binangonan, Rizal.

She: Where?

Me: Binangonan. Rizal.

She: Is this going to pass Crowne Plaza?

Me: Uh, no.

So there. They almost got lost. Adventurous tourists. Why didn’t they have a local tour guide with them?

We told the driver to drop them off someplace they could ride a taxi. They got off at Rosario. Another guy (he looked pretty sleepy that time) got off the same stop and helped them find a cab.

Sheesh, if they didn’t ask where the jeep was going, they’d arrive at Binangonan without a clue how to get back to their hotel. What’s bad is that there are a lot of poeple who’ll take advantage of you for being a dayo. I’m not generalizing, but you know, you should learn from the movies Turistas and Hostel. Just my point.

Gwapo ka sana…

Guy #1: A dead-ringer for Paolo Soler (hi Tenten and Eric!). Mestizo, macho. Towers over his Pinoy-looking friends. Then he sways his head, opens his mouth to talk, and points at something… with utter finesse that I couldn’t ever do in my entire life, even if one teaches me forever. Sayang naman, magka-baro pala tayo…

Guy #2: His picture showcases his hot, hot, HOT body. His smile makes you want to melt. Then you find out he hangs out with "sisterettes." Haay, what a loss to womanhood…

Guy #3: You know he’s straight. He’s got those really long eyelashes over those expressive eyes that makes you swoon with just a mere glance. He’s eloquent and speaks in impeccable English. And then you hear him sing along with Michael Learns to Rock. Kainis, bawas pogi points.

As a friend would say, marketing is all about creating perceptions on a product or service. Same goes to humans. How you market yourself is how you want other people to see you. You can either bare it all and be true to yourself or misrepresent yourself and stretch the truth. Whatever process you do, just remember to uphold your created perception and, if ever, be careful enough not to blow your cover.

My take on the Black Suede (feel me in)

Filed under: Uncategorized — kablagblog at 9:51 am on Friday, April 18, 2008

It’s been days since I first saw the "Black Suede" issue on TV.

You know, the gay guy who had an "operation" on this rectum and was later spread on YouTube?

A friend of mine forwarded this blog entry (and the full video… eww talaga) and made me wonder…

… after the Pinoy medical groups complained about the Desperate Housewives episode, claiming that their integrity was compromised, what can you say about this one that had doctors, nurses and interns violating the patient’s rights to privacy?

So much for upholding integrity.

I wonder how this issue would affect the sales of a well-known direct selling company that carries that brand of cologne.
